Course Description
Hebrew Readers East Africa is a Hebrew reading program delivered online in WhatsApp and GoogleMeet. The course is available to anyone with an internet connection and a desire to read Hebrew.
The Hebrew Readers East Africa program is particularly geared for religious learners in East Africa. The course draws on scripture and commonalities with Kiswahili. Instruction is available in English and Kiswahili.
A capable and diligent learner can expect to read Hebrew with about 16 classes. Successful students are awarded a Certificate of Achievement and are qualified to serve as Hebrew Leaders in the program. In lieu of a fee for their ongoing studies, Hebrew Leaders may recruit for the program and assistant teach. Hebrew Leaders promote after further study to Hebrew Partners. Hebrew Partners may earn commissions on fees attracted to the program.

Hebrew Learners Curriculum
The Hebrew Readers East Africa program incorporates the Alef Champ reading method. The course progresses over 2 introductory classes and 16 regular classes as follows:
Introductory Classes (2): Mechanics of Hebrew Reading. Open/closed syllable recognition. Hebrew combinations on 3 consonants and 2 vowels.
Classes 1-4: White/Red Readers. Hebrew consonants. Hebrew combinations of one and two syllables on 3 vowels. Hebrew letter recognition test for promotion to Orange Reader.
Classes 5-8: Orange/Yellow Readers. Hebrew combinations of one, two and three syllables on 6 vowels. Word stress rules. Orange/Yellow tests for promotion to Green Reader.
Classes 9-12: Green Reader. Hebrew combinations of one, two and three syllables on 9 vowels. Word stress rules. Green test for promotion to Blue Reader.
Classes 13-16: Blue Reader. Khataf vowels and special pronunciation rules. Hebrew combinations of one, two and three syllables on all vowels, khataf vowels, special pronunciations. Scripture reading practice. Online teaching skills training. Scripture reading test and promotion to Hebrew Leader.
Hebrew Leaders Curriculum
Hebrew Leaders may qualify as Hebrew Partners through satisfaction of the following requirements:
1. Verb class (binyan) recognition and verb conjugation.
2. Nominal and verbal prefix/suffix recognition and translation with attached noun/verb root.
3. Online dictionary presentations.
4. Online assistant teaching.
5. Hebrew vocabulary acquisition.
6. Marketing and recruitment for the program.
Fluent readers are awarded a Certificate of Achievement and are qualified to serve as Hebrew Leaders. Hebrew Leaders may assist with recruiting and teaching, and further promote to Hebrew Partners. Hebrew Partners may earn commissions.
Dan Goldstein grew up in the United States in a Jewish family. Dan's academic credentials include Bachelors and Masters degrees in music, and a Masters in Business Administration. He also completed the first year of the rabbinical studies program at the University of Judaism in Los Angeles, California.
